The feeling of anxiety is the emotional expression of a neurobiological state that occurs when your Bodily Ego feels itself under threat. Anxiety is the result of the release of hormones like adrenaline that heighten your sensitivity to the environment and prime your body for action. Anxiety is a survival emotion and is there to help you keep you safe. However, when anxiety is chronic, as it is under conditions of Toxic Socialization, anxiety becomes toxic, damaging, and disconnecting.
The first step towards resolving anxiety is to see if you are, in fact, anxious. The short assessment below measures the extent to which you are feeling anxious. If your anxiety reading is high (see Assessment Zones, you have to figure out what the source of that anxiety is and work to lower your anxiety score.
