Say what you will about religion, but one thing you can't say is that it is not important.Religion, whatever that might be, has been with humanity in one form or another for millennia. Besides the family, I'd hazard to suggest is the second oldest institution of humanity, The institution is so important that none other than the founding father of Sociology, August Comte, tried to start his own. He called it the Religion of Humanity and figured that it's implementation would help usher in Utopia.
But what is religion? Sadly, it's not a very easy question to answer. Sociologists alone have come up with dozens of definitions trying to sort it all out. You can download the archive of definitions below.
The LP Book Rocket Scientists' Guide to Religion (RSGR) is an attempt to sort it out. You can use this forum here to discuss religion, your personally or just religion in general, but only after you've read the RSGR, if you please.
